ALS Caregiving 101 (formerly known as Caregiver Bootcamp)

Register for ALS Caregiving 101, a virtual program that includes a live Q&A session on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 9am – 5pm. Through this training, ALS Caregivers will learn the basics, share their first-hand experiences, and ask the experts! Virtual video trainings, Q&A sessions with ALS specialists, and peer-to-peer conversations will help family caregivers proactively manage the care of a person with ALS.

Registered participants will receive an email a week prior to the Q&A event with resources, handouts and videos about caring for someone with ALS. Registrants will have the week to review the resources and prepare questions for a live Q&A with healthcare professionals.

Topics include:

  • Respiratory Health
  • Nursing and Nutrition
  • Physical Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Speech and Communication
  • Advanced Care Planning and Palliative Care
  • Caregiver Burnout

This program is open to all people caring for a loved one with ALS in Oregon and SW Washington. For more information, contact Susan Pennock at or 503-776-0900.
